Regulation 9:-
(a)
Every employer shall ensure that all persons who use work equipment has received adequate training for purposes of Health & Safety, including training in the methods which may be used, any risks which such use may carry, and the precautions to be taken.
(b)
Every employer should ensure that any of his employee's who supervises or manages the use of work equipment, have received adequate training for the purpose of Health & Safety, to include the methods which may be used, any risks which such use may carry, and the precautions to be taken.
Employer's have a continuing responsibility to provide adequate supervision, and it is therefore essential that supervisors and managers themselves have sufficient knowledge and training to be able to recognise unsafe forklift practices. They do not need full operator training if they are not operating the truck themselves, but they do need to understand the risks involved and the suitable precautions to be taken.
Waypit Training are one of only a few providers in the UK who are accredited by RTITB to conduct Managers and Supervisors Lift Truck Safety Awareness. This is a one day course for a maximum of 12 delegates. This is not a certificate to operate the machinery, but training in the whole aspect of safe lift truck operations and the law concerning it.
Delegates receive copies of:
